Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the mind, emotions, and body. When you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. Deep breathing lowers the heart rate, reduces high blood pressure, and removes toxins from the body.  When you can calm the body, you’re then able to calm the mind which reduces stress, anxiety and depression, improves mood, and increases empathy.  Learn how to focus upon the breath and how to relax each part of your body.  This enables you to sleep better, to take a mental break, and to remove your attention from worries.  As you develop the ability to breathe deeply and relax, you will cultivate the ability to quiet your mind and to sit in silent meditation.  When you make this a daily practice, your awareness, intuition, and creativity improve.
